The First Ten Books Every Person, Every Entrepreneur in Business And Sales Should Read before they do Anything.

I like books (and of course libraries), so much so, started my own web site.

Here: are books that I feel will interest most people, they interested myself and I hope you too, note also you do not have to be business orientated to get the best out of these books, they contain stuff; hidden gems and advice, that will be useful for everyone throughout their life.

Why did I pick theses books to be in my top ten? That’s easy ( or is it?);

This is basically telling people how to gain and increase wealth, with advice that some more so called experience people could do well to take on board. Sometimes financial lessons are learned the hard way; in your pocket.

In the UK as a Book or Kindle or AudioBook

Lots of people may think they know how to spend money and save it, but do they?, by that I mean, spend money on products and services that will bring a return on investment, not just hedonist pleasure.

People may think they do not need to know about financial management of their own money unfortunately that’s not true for most people. This book is from the thirty’s nevertheless it has solid financial suggestions and principles, that if followed, will help you keep and increase wealth or if in debt, will show you the principles on how to recover from and repay that debt.

Read my book review about The Richest Man In Babylon here

This book like the Richest Man in Babylon set standards and principle that other books emulate or other authors take principles and put a spin on and build upon them to make their own versions of the key concepts or principles from this book.

Napoleon Hill took twenty five years of research in to writing this book and all though the successful and wealth people interviewed are either icons of history or names now long forgotten the key principles remain. Trends come and go yet the books core principles are that based on the human traits that are the same as in the past, now the present and will be in the future for the human psychology behavior and understanding.

The key requirements are your belief and ability to then put that belief into action as is your ability to think. To think for yourself independent of following what society, television, and group thinks and to be able to develop your own thoughts to be one head of the trends or to know what the demands of people are and sell that demand to them, is a key aspect of every entrepreneur.

Read my blog about it Here.

Again principles in this book have themselves been used by other authors to build upon for their books and a little twist added to give it a new look.

In the (UK Only) in Paperback on Kindle on AudioBook

The key principle in this book are such they stand the test of time again about people behavior that regardless of what century you were born in, they stand you in good stead be used by everyone who wants to do as the title suggests. The book is endorsed by the Sage of Omaha; non-other than Warren Buffet and the one and only training course he took in his adult life.

Nobody has a complete understanding of how to drive and develop a business (or even a friendship) network. And in this book, you are given some great advice on principles, you should adopt, the advice told through stories, that  make the retention of the principles easier for the reader to assimilate and remember.

The next book was; Sell or be sold by Grant Cardone.

The book is more than a sales book. In fact I have done quite a few blogs on it!
It's about how to get your way in business and life too. Your selling all the time; often your selling yourself, your firm, your product, so you need to know how to get it right as often you only get one go at pitching.

In the (UK Only) in HardBack on Kindle on AudioBook

Grant goes through a number of key concepts that made him what he is today, you’re getting thirty years of sales experience in a book, at the end of each chapter has revision exercise so you understand the key principles. I highly recommend it.

Read my blog about it Here.

The next book was The Ten x Rule by Grant Cardone: this is a discipline and Grant develops the core principles of them throughout the book, a lot of reviews have been written about the premise (massive action needed to fulfill the desired outcomes), the action needs to be ten times what you need or what you thought you needed to do the task, and yes, I too, have done a review too.

In the (UK only) in HardBack on Kindle on AudioBook

This really does make you aware, if you are going to make it, you have got to have ten times more energy and put ten times more action into getting results that will achieve your desired outcome and goals. As with his other books, there are revision excises at the end of each chapter to see if you have comprehended the chapters key points.

I have done a book review and summary on this book at my website Here

The next book is ; If You’re not first your last by Grant Cardone , yes more of Grant Cardone!

I am big fan of Grants and have bought all his books. My book review on it Here.

In (UK only)  Hardback on Kindle on AudioBook

This is what Grant, Himself says about the book: During economic contractions, it becomes much more difficult to sell your products, maintain your customer base, and gain market share. Mistakes become more costly, and failure becomes a real possibility for all those who are not able to make the transition.

But imagine being able to sell your products when others cannot, being able to take market share from both your competitors, and knowing the precise formulas that would allow you to expand your sales while others make excuses.

If You re Not First, You re Last is about how to sell your products and services despite the economy and provides the reader with ways to capitalize regardless of their product, service, or idea. Grant shares his proven strategies that will allow you to not just continue to sell, but create new products, increase margins, gain market share and much more.

Key concepts in If You re Not First, You re Last include:
  • Converting the Unsold to Sold
  • The Power Schedule to Maximize Sales
  • Your Freedom Financial Plan
  • The Unreasonable Selling Attitude
My book review and summary is here.

This book does is give you the reality of what the financial situation is for many people but they don’t know or appreciate what is going on all round them financially as they are busy working to pay the bills and not generating residual income.

In (UK only) PaperBack on Kindle on AudioBook

This is about acquiring wealth and not just livening day to day, and Robert use the analogy of having two dads (his real dad and another person who was a dad like person to him), both dads had different incomes and he explains why and how you can live on residual income and not have to work just to pay the bills.

Here is what Robert says himself : Rich Dad Poor Dad, the #1 Personal Finance book of all time, tells the story of Robert Kiyosaki and his two dads--his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad--and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.

You will find a vast amount of videos on YouTube about Robert, including his Tedx talk

The point with any business is you have got to manage people, other than being self-employed; there will be a time when you have to employ people to buy you the time to do other things for your business.

What the Author says:

This easily-read story quickly demonstrates three very practical management techniques: One Minute Goals, One Minute Praisings and One Minute Reprimands.

The One Minute Manager also includes information on several studies in medicine and in the behavioural sciences, which help readers understand why these apparently simple methods work so well with so many people. The book is brief, the language is simple, and best of all … it works.

In (UK only) Hardback in PaperBack on Kindle on AudioBook

This book has been a massive success motivation book based on a fable of how two mice and two little humans Hem and Haw adapt to change. This is basically a story of how to handle change in business and life.

This is what the author says: It is the amusing and enlightening story of four characters who live in a maze and look for cheese to nourish them and make them happy. Cheese is a metaphor for what you want to have in life, for example a good job, a loving relationship, money or possessions, health or spiritual peace of mind. The maze is where you look for what you want, perhaps the organisation you work in, or the family or community you live in. The problem is that the cheese keeps moving.

In the story, the characters are faced with unexpected change in their search for the cheese. One of them eventually deals with change successfully and writes what he has learned on the maze walls for you to discover. You'll learn how to anticipate, adapt to and enjoy change and be ready to change quickly whenever you need to.

Discover the secret of the writing on the wall for yourself and enjoy less stress and more success in your work and life. Written for all ages, this story takes less than an hour to read, but its unique insights will last a lifetime.

This book and its concepts are not without its critics, it is often given to employees to show them how to handle change, that organisations will or may go through, in order to adapt to the ever changing global, socioeconomic and strategic change which all business can be affected by, and which ultimately affect the employee. And this book shows the basic scenario’s of the two mice and little two humans who adapt or don't adapt to change. Thus employees will be one of these mice or the humans that do or don't adapt and hopefully YOU will be the right one, that does.

The next book is the Chimp Paradox by Prof Steve Peters.

My book review and summary Here

This is a self improvement book about the Chimp, the Human and the computer which are the names given to represent the parts of the human brain and how these parts live within everyone and how you can learn to control and use these areas of the brain to understand yourself and help you change and improve your life.

In (UK only) Paperback on Kindle on AudioBook

This book gives you guidance on how to go about obtaining a mind management programme for confidence, success and happiness.
